Q. Will I receive an additional boxed product?
A. No. The additional free license of QuarkXPress 8 will be provided via an email from our customer service. To retrieve your additional license, all you have to do is install, activate and register your new license of QuarkXPress. Then visit 8.quark.com/en/2for1 and follow the online redemption process. Our customer service team will email you within 14-days to provide a serial number and validation code for your free license. You can install your additional license using the same installer (DVD or download) used for your initial QuarkXPress 8 full license purchase or from the web link provided in the email.
Q. Doesn’t QuarkXPress 8 already allow me to use my license on two computers?
A. QuarkXPress 8 single licenses support dual activation. This means you can install your license of QuarkXPress 8 on up to two computers – for example your work computer and your home computer or your desktop computer and your laptop computer. However the license does not permit you to use QuarkXPress 8 on these two computers simultaneously. Dual activation is purely to allow for you to work on QuarkXPress 8 on up to two computers by the same person. The additional free license of QuarkXPress 8 will be provided by way of an additional serial number and validation code and enables a second person to use QuarkXPress 8. The additional license will be pre-registered to you and will be non-transferable.
Q. How do I redeem my free license?

Q. I can’t locate my serial number. Can I still get my free license?
A. No. You need a valid, registered, activated serial number for a valid product purchased between 19th November 2009 and the 28th February 2010 in order to redeem your additional license. You can locate your serial number either on the QuarkXPress 8 product box or within the software itself in the environment window.
Q. How do I access my environment window?
A. On Mac: within the application: choose QuarkXPress > Option(alt)+About QuarkXPress. An environment window with the serial number will display.
On Win: within the application: choose Help > Ctrl+About QuarkXPress. An environment window with the serial number will display.
Q: My license is not registered. Can I still get my free license?
A. No. You first need to register your license to enable us to validate it was purchased during the promotion period and to collect your details to pre-register your free copy. You can register your license for free at the following URLs:
Q. I have a QuarkXPress site license. Does this offer also apply to me?
A. This promotion applies to new single product license purchases of QuarkXPress 8 only. It does not apply to site licenses, upgrades, not for profit or education licenses. As a site license customer there is nothing to stop you going ahead and purchasing a single license copy of QuarkXPress 8 and redeeming your additional free copy. You can then in the future consolidate any single licenses back into your site license. Please be aware though that the standard consolidation costs will apply.
Q. Can I have my additional free license be for a different platform?
A. QuarkXPress 8 is platform independent. That means we don’t mind which platform you install it on, Mac or Windows. So yes, in theory you could install your initial license on one platform and then when you receive your second serial number and validation code, you could install this additional license on a different platform.
Q. Is this offer only available from Quark or can I also purchase through resellers?
A. You can upgrade through resellers or direct from Quark. We would always recommend that you purchase from Quark Authorised Resellers though.
Q. What if I already purchased QuarkXPress 8?
A. This promotion is only for valid QuarkXPress 8 licenses purchased between 19th November 2009 and the 28th February 2010. It does not apply to licenses purchased before or after this date.

Q. I’m using version 3/4/5/6/7. If I purchase a new license of QuarkXPress 8, can I down-save to work with my older versions?
A. You can open all QuarkXPress version 3,4,5,6 & 7 file formats in QuarkXPress 8, you may down-save a QuarkXPress 8 file to a QuarkXPress 7 file format. When using the QuarkXPress 8 East Asian or PLUS edition, you may down-save to QuarkXPress 6 Japanese or Korean.
